I Swear" is a ballad written by Gary Baker and Frank J. Myers that became a hit for two acts in 1994. Initially it was a number one song on the U.S. Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart for John Michael Montgomery at the beginning of the year. His version crossed over to pop radio and climbed to #42 on the Billboard Hot 100. A few months later, All-4-One covered the song and achieved a great success in many countries, including Sweden where it was a number-one hit.

Several months after John Michael Montgomery had released his original version, R&B vocal quartet All-4-One recorded their own version with producer David Foster. All-4-One's version hit number one on the Hot 100 and remained there for eleven consecutive weeks. It also peaked at number two on the UK Singles Chart, and stayed at number 2 for seven consecutive weeks kept off the top by the massive hit "Love Is All Around" by Wet Wet Wet! The All-4-One version was slightly different, in that the line "And when there's silver in your hair" from the second verse was replaced by "And when just the two of us are there." It can be heard in the 2005 film, Just Friends.

Biography

Lloyd was recruited at the age of 11 to join a singing group "N-Toon", created by artist developer Joyce Irby of the 80's all girl band Klymaxx. He landed two major deals for the group, Warner Records, and Dreamworks. The group had marginal success with a single "Ready" but the group eventually disbanded. Irby, Lloyd's manager, at the time of began shopping around for a solo deal through her company Diva One Entertainment. He soon was signed to MCA Records with his first single-to-be "Young Girl". Unfortunately, as MCA Records dissolved into its parent company, Geffen Records, many of the artists on its roster were let go (including Lloyd). Irby using her contact with Irv Gotti's attorney, Ron Sweeney set up a meeting with Irv and using "Young Girl" as a demo, landed a new recording contract with The Inc./Def Jam Records with Irv Gotti.

He is of African-American and Haitian descent. Born to a black father and creole mother Robin Polite.

According to an interview with DJBooth.net, Lloyd admitted to host DJ "Z," that he has about twenty tattoo's who include a picture of his father, Young Goldie Music logo (his company) and a rebel baby angel.

Early life and career

Fonsi and his family moved to Orlando, Florida, during Fonsi's early childhood. around the time he was ten years old, Fonsi began to dream about becoming a member of Menudo, arguably Latin America's most famous boy band in history. While not being able to pursue that dream, he did, however, participate in many local boy bands, including one, Big Guys, where he met, and befriended, future *NSYNC member Joey Fatone.[1]

In April of that year,[clarify] Fonsi had a brief return to the singing stage, when former Menudo member Ray Reyes invited him and Lopez to a concert which was held at San Juan's Roberto Clemente coliseum. The press widely covered what El Vocero titled as Fonsi's moment as a Menudo,[citation needed] when he took the stage and joined the members of El Reencuentro to sing some of their old hits.
